BD 2 Poster FINAL Words-1

Trying to prove something to herself, Angelica brings home a litter of newborn puppies from the humane society. As Angelica, her husband Max, and her sister Lucy stay up to try and save them, they are forced to confront the inevitable future and the things they cannot change.

Black Dog is a play performed as part of the Charm City Fringe Fest 2018. I designed the poster for the show.

The concept of the poster is one of abstracted shapes, as the characters in the play grapple with intangible, nebulous themes: death, life, and grieving.

The gray boxes serve as a front porch–the setting for the play, and as tombstones, one for each of the puppies that die over the course of the play and a fourth for Max, who discovers he is dying of brain cancer. The top half of the poster, features a single downcast beam of a streetlight.
